What has changed?
We use Freesound's high-quality MP3 previews of the original recordings (not the WAV masters). The player skips short start/end segments, crossfades naturally performed drone sections when looping, and changes playback speed to transpose the recording to the selected Sa. Transposition changes both pitch and tempo/timbre. These are not twelve separately recorded Tanpuras, and the Ni option is unavailable until a real Ni recording can be licensed.
No synthetic Tanpura, waveform synthesis, or artificial string-by-string sample sequences are played in this version. These recordings remain the creator's work; the CC BY license and modifications are disclosed here. No endorsement by Sankalp Gulati or Freesound is implied.
Preview product only, not yet validated by musicians for long sessions.
